I’m Melissa Henderson, a Waterloo mortgage agent with access to over fifty lenders.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
I started my career with a major bank which gave me a vast knowledge of lending. However, I always felt limited to the products and interest rates offered by the company.
So, after ten years of learning the Scotiabank culture, I finally decided to become an independent mortgage broker. I can still remember closing my first mortgage which was daunting, but I haven’t looked back ever since making the switch in 2015.
Over the past five years, I have noticed that the mortgage industry has evolved, and the introduction of the stress test has made it more challenging to get approved. However, I’ve managed to stay ahead of the latest rule changes by being proactive and approachable.
I’m enthusiastic about helping home seekers, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart is my impeccable customer service. I listen carefully to clients as I value their inputs, and based on their feedback, I formulate various options that I feel will be in their best interest.
I also attribute my success to rendering honest advice and take the time to educate clients so that they can make informed decisions. My goal is to ensure that they feel supported every step of the way by making myself accessible to answer questions.
Empowering people to progress towards a prosperous future and seeing them move into their dream home has given me immense satisfaction over the years, and motivates me to work harder.
When I’m not securing lenders, I love spending quality time with my family. I have three sons, aged seven, twelve, and fourteen. They are very active playing lacrosse, basketball, and soccer meaning I’m usually chauffeuring them to the arena or a field. I also like volunteering at their school and my neighbourhood community events.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
